6 - 13 bright yellow ray flowers surround lots of tiny disk flowers.



Pappus is made up of 4 flared, white scales. This distinguishes it from L. californica which has 7 brown scales.



Goldfields tend to bloom at the same time. They make quite a display, living up to their name.
