Single iris flowers are at the top of each flower stalk - generally 2 - 4 to a plant.
Leaves are narrow and pointed, and join each other at the ground in a flat arrangement typical of irises.
Found in meadows or rocky areas, mostly in the California foothills.

Flower stalks are about the same length as the narrow, pointed leaves.
